CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Co., Ltd. has received DNV Type Approval certificates for its segmented and through-shaft permanent-magnet shaft generator series, becoming the first company in China to obtain type approval covering a full range of shaft generators.

  The certification confirms that the company’s product design, manufacturing, inspection, reliability, and quality management systems meet DNV’s stringent requirements. It also marks an important milestone in CRRC Zhuzhou Electric’s expansion into the global high-end marine equipment market.

  The company’s permanent-magnet shaft generators have also obtained certifications from other major classification societies, providing broad coverage of internationally recognized marine standards. The product range spans 500 kW to 5 MW and can be applied to container ships, bulk carriers, roll-on/roll-off vessels, and specialized engineering vessels under varying operating conditions.

  Nearly 200 shaft generators have been deployed on international shipping routes, supporting major shipping companies including MSC, CMA CGM, Seaspan, and COSCO SHIPPING. The systems help shipowners reduce operating costs and carbon emissions through improved energy efficiency.
