Recently, the permanent-magnet hybrid mining loader LiuGong H8250TE officially set off for overseas delivery. CRRC National Converter Center provided the loader with a high-power permanent-magnet hybrid traction system for mining applications, supplying the core power technology to support the equipment’s overseas deployment.
CRRC National Converter Center and LiuGong established a joint technical team to focus on heavy-duty power conversion technology for mining applications. The team overcame a number of key technical challenges and developed a customized high-power converter solution tailored to the extreme operating conditions of large-tonnage mining loaders, enhancing the equipment’s adaptability to complex environments and improving operational stability. The permanent-magnet hybrid traction system features high torque at low speeds, with a peak system output torque of up to 7,500 N·m. It is also equipped with a high-performance supercapacitor energy storage system, enabling a braking energy recovery rate of more than 90%. Compared with conventional fuel-powered loaders, the system reduces the machine’s overall fuel consumption by 32%.
Building on years of expertise in high-power power conversion technology, CRRC National Converter Center has now achieved batch deployment of high-power hybrid traction systems across the full range of 100- to 300-ton mining dump trucks.
